The subjects offered include Geography, History, CRE, Kiswahili, French and German. Whereas the rest of the subjects are taught in all levels, French is introduced in Year 3 and German in Year 6.
Through the study of humanities, the pupils’ understanding of human behaviour and relationships in the past and at present is enhanced. They are able to experience the world in the past and extend this knowledge to apply to life at present. They analyse their origin and identity and how these influence their behaviour and attitudes. The geographical skills they are exposed to enable them to learn about location and orientation of different places. They explore the physical and human environment and how they interrelate. Pupils are trained on tolerance for the varied cultures and religions in their environment.
The study of CRE offers an opportunity to mould the pupils’ characters through the study of various events and characters in the Bible. This study is based on the Christian principles and ethos that the school upholds in addition to serving as a reinforcement to our Pastoral Programme. The study of French and German offers an opportunity to the pupils to learn a foreign language. This is a foundational programme which is further enhanced when they progress to the high school. Pupils also get an opportunity to learn Swahili – our national language. It is an exciting and rewarding experience as we get to deliver the programmes of study offered under the Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL).
