Rusinga School follows the British National Curriculum. Up to Year 9, students study the set national curriculum subjects, but some are adapted to suit the Kenyan situation. Emphasis is laid up on the following key skills:
In Years 10 and 11, we follow a two year IGCSE course administered by the University of Cambridge through Cambridge International Examinations Board (CIE). Successful students go on to study for GCE A Level, a world-class qualification for entry in to universities worldwide.
Throughout the school, students take part in PE and Games. They also follow courses in Christian Guidance and Counselling.
Unlike the BNC in UK, our students have the following advantages:
At the end of Key Stages 1 and 2, students take SAT examinations and at the end of Key Stage 3, they take CIE Checkpoint examinations in Mathematics, English and Science before starting the IGCSE course.
